You may have seen information all over the internet about blogging: some is good and some is completely not legit! I remember being in your shoes seeing videos online about blogging from people who are bragging about their cars, houses, and thinking “What is this blogging thing all about, and how can I get started?”. Then, on the other side of the spectrum, I read about people who spent years and years to get little to no results.

My Blogging Background
I started blogging in 2015 while I was Active Duty in the military. During the same year, I wrote and published 15 books! I was a prolific writer. Hopefully, I still can pull things off like that.
I started on a Christian Lifestyle blog and after one year, I got a little discouraged. The results weren’t happening for me like I’d seen marketed all over the internet.
I didn’t want to blog for the status items. I simply wanted to add financial security for my family when I separated the military. My blog didn’t work like that, and it took me quite a while before I could pinpoint the reasons why. I’d like to stop the journey from being difficult for you as it was for me, so I spend my time writing articles to help entrepreneurs and freedom lifestyle enthusiasts overcome obstacles they may be dealing with.
How My Turnaround Started
In 2017, I took a course on Udemy that explained a bird’s eye view of what a profitable blog consists of, and I regained hope again. I decided that the main thing hindering me from being successful as a blogger was my level of knowledge. I needed more ideas. I signed up for other other programs: two changed the trajectory of my life. The Billionaire Blog Club and Wealthy Affiliate were really life changing for my blogging career. From there, I was able to connect products and services together that have made my blog business turn around.
I would love to share with you what I’ve learned so far in my blogging journey. Although I didn’t go the free route, I can help you meet your goals, and instruct you on how to start a blog for free.
Let me first mention, I wrote another post that ties into this called How To Set up a Blog for Business and Sales. If you’re looking to monetize your blog or create a business from it, I highly suggest you taking a look at that article as well. This one will tell you how to start a blog for free”, but that one will tell you the overview of the business and sales structure of a blog.
Now that’s out the way, let’s get started with How You Can Start Blog Free…
The most important aspects of a website (free or not) are:
- Page load time
- Design and Aesthetics
- and, High-Quality Content
The most important things for the blogger to have in addition to a quality website are:
- A supportive community
- A willingness to teach and communicate with readers
- An eagerness to continue learning
- Training that gives lucrative ideas
With all that said, I’m very familiar with many free blogging platforms like Blogger, Blogspot, WordPress, Tumblr, and others. I have personally used Blogger, WordPress, and Tumblr, and although they have the basic structure of a working website, they don’t have community or training, which are two of the most crucial elements to your blogging success.
Why Community is Vital To Blogging Success
In a normal 9 to 5, you go into a group of people who are aspiring to a similar goal: to make the business successful. Each person has a responsibility in the business. While you may not get along with everyone in the workplace, they’re required to work together to some extent.
With blogging, you can feel like a standalone very easily. It’s something that can be done from anywhere, but the networking has to be more intentional because the computer can serve as a barrier or an entryway into the lives of others. Many people working from home or digital nomads find it challenging to still have a social life.
Furthermore, a blog can suffer in authority and credibility from not having interaction like comments, likes, shares, and so on. You need to serve the community thru your blog, and this will be apparent thru shares, likes, comments, and so on. Engagement will boost your search engine rankings. Search engine rankings will boost your traffic. Do you get the picture?
The Platform I Recommend to Start Blog Free
I recommend the SiteRubix Platform to start a blog free because they have a robust system that integrates with the most well-known content management system: WordPress. They provide loads of training, so you will not simply be a writer on a blog, but a blogger with earning potential thru a blog.
There’s also a highly engaged community that includes successful bloggers (including the owners and founders) who will give you educated feedback on various aspects of your career, content, design, or other things you may have questions about.
Here’s a brief overview of what you get with the free website. It’s power-packed!
Whether you are choosing to start a blog for free for your business or as a hobby, there’s loads of scaleable opportunity for you. Plus, it’s always nice to at least be informed about how to make the venture lucrative in case you want to. So without further ado, let me introduce you to how you can start blog free using the Siterubix platform. Shall we?
As we are speaking, I am writing my content in the Siterubix platform. You can see what the interface looks like below:
Step 1: Create Your Blog Account with SiteRubix
Now, let me show you how you can start blog free on Siterubix as well. First, you would have to create your Wealthy Affiliate free account <here>. This will give you access to training on search engine optimization, content creation, keyword research, and so many more things you will need to know in order to be successful as a blogger. There are other routes to find similar information, but I’ve found this route to be the shortest and most efficient (even in comparison to paid options).
Step 2: Choose Your Free Domain (or Purchase a Custom Domain)
Next, I suggest you going to Jaaxy (a free option is included with Sitebubix), and doing some keyword research. You want to do research to decide on a site name that is relevant to what people are searching for, and also is an area you are able to give great value.
The Wealthy Affiliate courses will teach you everything you need to know about keyword research. Their keyword research courses and tools will play a major role in your success blogging.
Keyword research will enable you to calculate an approximate number of visitors you can expect per post based on the amount of searches for the keyword choices you make. Does that make sense? If not, the keyword course is taught in a very easy to understand way, and if you have questions afterwards, inbox me inside Wealthy Affiliate or here at [email protected] You can do a little keyword research by entering potential ideas, then you can find out approximately how many people search that term monthly (avg), and how many people are trying to rank for that keyword (QSR). You want to choose a high AVG and less than 200 QSR. Try it out using Jaaxy here:
After you’ve done your keyword research, and chosen a domain name that is relevant to the market, you’ll have to go to the “SiteRubix” tab on the left, and choose “Site Builder”. This will enable you to choose a domain option: free, custom, or use a domain you previously owned.
Or, you can get your SiteRubix domain now, by using this tool here:
If you choose a free domain, it will look something like whateveryouwant.siterubix.com. If you chose to purchase a domain, you would choose “register a domain”, and it would take you where you could see which URLs are available for purchase.
With domains, they are assets that are similar to real estate. When you buy a property, no one else can locate anything on that property without your permission.
Domains work the same way. If you buy whateveryouwant.com, no one else can buy it. For this reason, I recommend buying domains because they are an investment, and the name you want today may not be available for purchase tomorrow. The internet is gaining more and more interest which will equate to equity with time. A domain that is $15.99 today may be thousands or millions ten years from now.
The prompting to purchase a domain on the SiteRubix platform looks like this:
You can see that when I entered my domain idea (whateveryouwant.com), it populated all of the possibilities that are not currently taken. For $15.99, I could purchase whichever piece of internet real estate I choose and use that for my personal branding in my company!
Personally, I recommend buying a domain because it is better for long-term branding purposes. Siterubix is their own brand. I think it’s best for entrepreneurs to purchase websites and create a brand of their own, so I would recommend the second process: creating a custom domain. If you want to start blog free, that is totally up to you. I will continue to show you what it would be like to start blog free…
Step 3: Choose Your Site Title
After choosing “on a free domain”, you would be prompted to choose your site name, site title, and WordPress theme. If you’ve ever went thru the process of setting up a website before, you can already see how much simpler this process is than others. You can literally have a WordPress website up in minutes!
Your site title should correlate to what you found in your Jaaxy keyword research, and should also be relevant to what you’ll be writing on, and what your target audience will be looking for. For example, my site title here is “How to Entrepreneur”.
Step 4: Create your Blog for Free
Now, we’ve covered how to start blog free and you may have been able to accomplish those three steps within minutes. The rest is easy peasy just like that.
Next, we will be choosing a blog theme from the 2849 options available within SiteRubix. Let me warn you…After your site is up, you will be able to make modifications to your site (especially with a custom domain). You can choose premium themes from all across the internet.
Buying themes is like buying a new shirt–there are retailers all over the place. For this exercise, we will simply choose a theme from the available themes on the SiteRubix platform because we want to create blog free. Here are some options:
This step may take you some time to choose which one you like best. Choosing your theme is like real estate “curb appeal”. It’s your visitors first impression of your brand, so choose carefully, but don’t go into paralysis from analysis.
You can try as many as you’d like! I recommend choosing themes that capture the audience right away without them scrolling. The headline should be visible immediately, and the menus easy to use.
I personally also like widget areas and other features you’ll learn about in the Wealthy Affiliate training courses. You may want to complete the courses first if you find any of this overwhelming, or if you have questions while you are reading.
There’s so much community support with each step and answering each of your questions, it’s unreal. That’s the reason why they remain my #1 recommended resource to start blog free, create blog free, or make your own blog.

I tried to explain thoroughly, but I’m not able to view from the perspective of a first-time user now because I’m not one. If you have questions, I’d be more than happy to answer them below.
If you’ve used SiteRubix before to create a website, please share your experience: good, bad, ugly, or indifferent.
