What is Affiliate Marketing? How it Works…
In summary, affiliate marketing is when a merchant and an affiliate collaborate so they both make more money. In a normal affiliate transaction, there’s three parts: the affiliate or publisher, the tracking software or affiliate network, and the merchant or advertiser. The publisher gets paid for referring people to the merchant’s products and services, and the affiliate network or tracking software track the transaction to give credit to the affiliate.
By way of tracking links and call tracking, affiliates can be credited with referring a customer to a merchant, and get paid. It’s really cool, right?

What is WarriorPlus.com? Product Overview
Like Flexoffers and CJ Affiliate (aka. Commission Junction), WarriorPlus is an affiliate network. An affiliate network helps publishers and advertisers in collaborations by offering tracking software and by providing support to improve joint ventures.
What sets WarriorPlus apart from other affiliate networks is:
- The products are niche specific and all about internet marketing
- They specialize in digital products
- It’s very easy to launch because there’s almost no quality control
- It’s very easy to promote their products because it’s not much screening
- It’s less common to be familiar with the product creators because there aren’t many household names
- and, you can get paid instant commissions.
The WarriorPlus Backstory
WarriorPlus was founded in 2006 by Mike Lantz. When I was doing research, I found a pretty interesting backstory. If you’re not familiar with the Warrior Forum, it’s a longstanding networking hub for internet marketers.
You can ask questions, meet new people, and it was originally designed for internet marketers to help one another out. Now, it’s grown into a behemoth in the internet marketing space. It’s changed ownership and there’s mized emotions about how it’s run. Some say, “it’s a good resource”, and others say, “It’s the blind leading the blind”, so if you decide to visit, take advice from there with a grain of salt.
Back to the backstory…
The Warrior Forum decided to incorporate a classified ads section where marketers would pay $20-$40 to place an ad, and many of the forum members would visit the sales pages, and buy the products. At one point, the WarriorForum classified were a great deal, but I can’t speak on whether they’re still a good value.
The problem with the Warrior Forum=-[p] Classified ads was it was difficult to manage the payment, affiliate tracking, and so on. In response to the problem at the WarriorForum, Mike Lantz created WarriorPlus. Originally, there was a price for posting on the WarriorForum and a separate price for posting on WarriorPlus.
This may still be the case.
Now, WarriorPlus has outpaced the WarriorForum’s classified sections, and many product creators simply post there. Interesting backstory, huh?
How Does WarriorPlus Work?
Like other affiliate networks, WarriorPlus works to the benefit of publishers and advertisers. They bring publishers (affiliates) together with product creators for a mutually beneficial relationship. They also provide tracking software that enables publishers and merchants to be credited and paid correctly for sales.
One major difference with WarriorPlus in comparison to other affiliate networks is you have one registration to become both: an affiliate and an advertiser. Once your account is created, you get access to everything necessary to become an affiliate for products, or to become an advertiser of products. Other networks have a separate registration and follow-up process for affiliates and advertisers.
Once you have a WarriorPlus Account, you’re able to browse their directory of vendors to find products you’d like to promote, or you can list your products. The products all fall within the make money online and work from home niche, so I guess that’s why they don’t categorize the products like other networks. Rather than sorting products by relevance to your target audience, the WarriorPlus categorization is by:
- Refund rate
- Conversion rate
- Launch date
- Visitor value
- and Average sale
Some Things I Don’t Like About How it Works
In my opinion, the navigation on the WarriorPlus site is quite confusing. As a result, the only questions you can answer by navigating the obvious facts are:
- “How much money are others making promoting these products?”
- “Are people returning the products?”
- “How much money can I make promoting these products?”
I don’t think the information that’s presented by scrolling is sufficient to choose a high quality product to promote. You’re missing information like:
- A little backstory on the merchant
- Will these products be relevant to my audience?
- What’s the reputation of the merchant?
There are extra steps you’d have to take to find the additional information, and many people won’t want to go hunting for the additional facts. This fact alone would make it obvious why many people complain about the affiliates at WarriorPlus being spammy. Most of them are promoting offers just for them–just because they see how much others are making and how much they can make!
Any longstanding business has to have a focus on offering value to their clients, and benefit as a result. Solving a problem has to be the primary goal and the countereffect is making money. When the intentions in the business are twisted, it’s not nearly as fulfilling, people can smell the selfishness miles away, and it short circuits your results.
Other networks like CJ Affiliate or Flexoffers make it easier for affiliates to understand more data about the companies their thinking of partnering with. It also helps that CJ Affiliate and Flexoffers have reputable brands and dedicated affiliate managers to help you sort thru questions you might have.
Another disappointing thing I noticed about navigating the WarriorPlus site is you can’t divide offers by cost-per-lead versus cost-per-sale like you can at Flexoffers. Cost-per-lead products are the favorites of many successful affiliates, so it’s a bummer that WarriorPlus doesn’t make it easier to see whether a product is cost-per-lead or not.
How Do You Make Money with WarriorPlus.com?
Making money with WarriorPlus the longstanding way takes 4 steps that look like this…
You earn money by:
1. Choosing an interest
2. Building a website
3. Getting rankings & Visitors
4. Earning Revenue
Each step is very important. Although WarriorPlus focuses on the make money online niche, there are many successful niches out there, and you might find there’s something you’re more interested in. You don’t want to rush past any step because then you might get burned out or change your mind later, and then you’d have to start back at step 1 all over again.
Building a website is like building a storefront online. It’s your place of residence for your business. You’ll find alot of alternative methods and “secrets” (especially in the internet marketing industry and circles like WarriorPlus or JVZoo).
Some Shady Teachings that May Prevent Longstanding Success
Many people are teaching to direct link to a merchant’s website, or to build a business on landing page or funnel software rather than building a website. These methods work, but they don’t create loyalty for your brand that makes a longstandning business thrive–it’s like renting a business rather than buying. You want people to know YOUR BUSINESS so they’ll trust YOUR BUSINESS and buy from YOU time and time again.
When they see other logos or branding like landing page companies, funnel companies, or they don’t know you referred them (because you direct link), they’ll be confused or not know you at all. Big mistake.
The traffic would have their loyalty elsewhere or you’d be at the liberty of the funnel software provider or landing page software. It’s not a good long-term business decision.
How to Get Traffic to Affiliate Offers
For building traffic, I recommend SEO primarily and paid ads (if you have the budget for it). Others teach methods like:
- Solo ads
- PPC ads
- Social media ads
- and directing paid traffic to a funnel of some sort (like Clickfunnels)…
…as a primary means of getting or converting traffic.
And, they’re not upfront about the cost. One reason why many people teach these methods is because they’re trying to sell you something (like funnel software or landing page software). I’m all for paid traffic, but it costs, so people who are in the startup phase or are not aware of the cost of a business model like that can easily get in more than they expected. The method I recommend leaves you with a much lower overhead cost and typically higher profit margins.

How Much Can you Make with WarriorPlus?
Choosing an affiliate network doesn’t usually give details about how much you can make, however, I think with WarriorPlus it’s a little different. Like other affiliate networks, there’s lots of potential to find valuable products that you’re audience may be interested in, however, based on my experience with WarriorPlus, I think you’d have to spend much more time on this step than you would at other networks.
With Warriorplus, finding a good product among the scams is like finding gold almost. There’s so much trash! Take a look at these product titles…
They Over-Exaggerate and Over-Sensationalize in their Sales!
Some of the best selling products on the day of this writing include:
- The Secret Weapon
- Attorney Marketing Intensive
- 0 to 100 in 24 hrs
Some of the product titles don’t even sound honest. For example, 0 to 100, what? Dollars? In 24 hours?
I’ve also looked at many of these sales pages which suggest that a person with zero skill can follow a “secret process” and quickly make lots of money. My scam radar is constantly blinking when I’m scrolling thru WarriorPlus.
Majority of the offers scream “quick fix money”, “easy money”, etc. For the most part, they’re targeting the people who want quick fixes, not too much work, and low cost. Is that the audience that you want to invest your hard work giving value to?
The Products Don’t Lend Well to Make you a Living
Added to that, the products are mostly inexpensive, one-time payment offers that would require high sales volumes to make a living. Then, if you’re able to get high sales volume from one product, you’d have to continue shopping for new products to promote and do the same thing ALL OVER AGAIN–that sounds like the very rat race most people are trying to get away from.
How Other Networks Compare
Instead, other networks offer you reputable brands who have more than one must-have product, higher ticket products, or recurring offers, so you can promote something for years without having to build new campaigns over and over. For example, Flexoffers has brands like Macy’s.
As an affiliate of Macy’s you’d be able to create all kinds of helpful tutorials and when the person purchases, you’d get a commission. They also have recurring offers like subscription boxes that would pay you month after month when you refer the buyer ONCE.
Sounds much easier to make a living that way, right?
The WarriorPus Affiliate Mentality
Many WarriorPlus affiliates and product creators see dollar signs, and choose products based on the “what’s in it for me” mentality. As a result, once you’ve promoted the product to your audience, they’d get burned out from the multiple sales pitches they get throughout the day!
Then, added to the common overselling from the affiliates and product creators at WarriorPlus, there’s also many ethical compromises: from the top down. Mike Lantz, the founder sends emails to all WarriorPlus members about the deal of the day. Can you imagine is Walmart promoted one product per day? Most of the time, the deal of the day is CRAP, but he’s promoting it like it will change your business in a positive way.
I can’t accuse him outrightly of being a liar, however, I think he definitely over-exaggerates and over-sensualizes the quality of the offers and the relevance to your business growth. I’ve personally bought products based on Mike’s recommendations that have been flops, and others have the same complaints.
If you follow the model set by Mike and many WarriorPlus members, this can definitely cause your affiliate business to hit a glass ceiling with the income potential. You have to be honest with people and promote products based on what’s in it for your client.
How Do I Get Started with WarriorPlus?
To get started with WarriorPlus, you have to complete a very short registration that looks like this…
Username, password, and email address. Unlike the other networks, WarriorPlus doesn’t ask for information about your business, your traffic sources, or anything else up front. In fact, they’ll never ask for more information until you request to be paid or to make a payment!
It’s very easy to get started, which is why people who are not accepted in other places find an avenue at WarriorPlus.
When and How Does WarriorPlus.com Pay?
When a customer uses Paypal to checkout, you can earn your payments instantly using Paypal’s adaptive payment system. Instant payment is one perk of Warriorplus.
If the customer chooses an alternative payment method, then the payout is delayed (usually 7 to 30 days).
There are also circumstances where the commissions can be delayed based on the age of your affiliate account. Here’s an explanation of that…

PRO #4: Very easy to get started promoting or listing products
CON #1: Lots of scams to filter thru

CON#6: Not much screening process for advertisers’ products as a result, there’s lots of crappy products and scams
CON#7: Not much screening process for affiliates so your products can be promoted in ways that you don’t agree with–creating high refund, high customer dissatisfaction, and a bad reputation for your company
Who is WarriorPlus For?
WarriorPlus is for:
- Make money online or work from home digital product creators who are new or want a platform where they can recruit affiliates to help promote their product
- Affiliates who don’t mind sorting thru lots of offers to find a genuine value
- Affiliates who don’t care whether they offer value or not, but simply want to make money
WarriorPlus Tools & Training
WarriorPlus is an affiliate network and not a training platform, so you’d need to get training on affiliate marketing by purchasing products there, or by enrolling elsewhere. You can CREATE A FREE ACCOUNT and begin my #1 recommended affiliate marketing training. It offers you:
Access to a community of 1.4 million+ affiliate marketers
- 1-on-1 support from me
- 10 free training lessons
- and 2 free websites
At no cost to you. Then if you decide to upgrade to a paid membership, you can get live training and much more. Here’s a more detailed breakdown…
WarriorPlus offers email support. From my experience, the email support was fairly responsive, however, it’s not the same as phone support or a dedicated affiliate manager like what you could have at Flexoffers.
What’s The BBB Saying About WarriorPlus?
With the exception of advertiser fees and payment transaction fees, WarriorPlus is free.
My Final Opinion of WarriorPlus.com
Overall, I can’t say that WarriorPlus is a scam because by definition a scam is an opportunity that promotes something and delivers nothing. I can say they over-exaggerate in many of their offers. They’re very polluted with scammers and bad products, so if you choose to do business there, you have to spend alot of time on quality control and due diligence. As a result, I’d recommend alternative affiliate networks over WarriorPlus. Flexoffers would be my #1 recommended affiliate network so far, but we’ll see if others can offer a comparable value as I continue reviewing them.
VERDICT: It’s Legit, but Be Careful!
